In 2016, a significant shift occurred with the enforcement of the European privacy legislation, building upon existing regulations dating back to 1994. This GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) legislation establishes comprehensive guidelines governing the handling of personal data. A pivotal moment that prompted many companies to seek guidance in aligning their business processes with the new regulations.
Charting our path to trustworthy privacy and information security partner
Initially, our focus lay on assisting companies in establishing compliant data handling practices. However, it soon became apparent that our expertise had to extend beyond GDPR services to encompass all facets of information security.
We specialized in ISO27001 and expanded our scope to cover all aspects of information security, beyond the cyber level. This expansion was accompanied by a deep dive into how businesses manage their data processing and IT projects. This allowed us to offer our clients thorough insights and recommendations tailored to their business’ needs. However, we also recognized that a profound understanding of data processing was not sufficient to implement privacy and security by design. In order to do so, in depth preliminary analysis and efficient project management and execution are equally crucial aspects. This made the addition of (data) analysis and project management to our service offerings a logical next step.
